Looking for a fun way to discover Kuala Terengganu? This is the perfect book for you.
This travelogue-comic was first released by Maple Comics in December 2014 with a reprint in August 2015. Mimi Mashud won a grant for IPCC Digital Interactive Comic Competition 2013/14, to produce an interactive travelogue-comic on Kuala Terengganu.
The one thing I truly enjoyed about this book was the attention to detail. Just take a look at this page. One of my favourites in the book. Reminds me of the kitchen in Lat’s Kampung Boy.
Apart from the beautiful drawings, you will find plenty of humour in it, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and light read.
This book should also appeal to a younger audience and would be a great way for them to explore the rich culture and heritage of Kuala Terengganu. I believe this will also be a good option for parents and kids to read together. I read this with my 6-year old son and he enjoyed every moment of it.
We will definitely be getting a copy of her first book Beijing in 5 Days and hope to review that soon.

A digital version of this book is apparently available on Apple’s App Store but I have not been able to try it out.
